August 1st Social Success

13rdThe weather was perfect and the atmosphere of the first ever Church Crookham Allotments Association social get-together was very warm and friendly. Andy and Garry had done a grand job organising and soon after noon allotment holders were arriving to the wafting aroma of outdoor cooking. The tables were decked with food and some “encouraging” examples of fruit and vegetables plucked from plots just three months on from the original barren patches. Unbelievable!

Garry was cooking using fresh produce from the allotments, including his exceedingly tasty “weed” recipes. Said Rosemary; tasting a cheese, onion and spinach folded pancake “It was delicious, really tasty. Please can we have the recipe?”

Andy was running the raffle and the youngsters were running around solving the quiz questions.

“It was good to get round and see other people’s allotments”. “It was interesting doing the quiz” said Eve and Honor.

A good time was had by all.

Prize-winners have been announced elsewhere on this website and posted on the hut notice-board.
